EDINBURGH GOLFER SCOTT’S TIMING IS ONE IN A MILLION

Edinburgh golfer Gavin Scott is heading to the Masters next year to line up in the Million Dollar Hole in One grand final after bagging an ace at Penina Golf Resort, in the Algarve last month.
And timing was everything for the 62-year-old the semi-retired chartered accountant after his fourball let a group of three play through them before they arrived at the 170-yard par-three eighth hole.
Had Scott and his friends not done so they would have missed the chance to play MDHIO as the stall was only just being erected when they arrived at the tee.
The 15 handicapper then proceeded to hit his rescue club with pinpoint accuracy to bag his fist-ever ace – and with it earn a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Masters as next year’s thrilling MDHIO $1million showdown is set to be held in Augusta.
Scott beamed: “I’m really excited to have the chance to play for $1m – but I’m probably more excited about going to the Masters.”.
