CRISP’S NO GOLDEN WONDER, BUT CORNFORTH IS FLAVOUR OF THE MONTH

Sometimes you can peak too soon and it can make all the difference in the world – just ask four-handicapper Rod Crisp, from Stoke Mandeville.
While playing recently on Vale do Lobo’s Ocean Course, on the Algarve, Rod aced the fifth hole – a 165m par-three and his 14th ace! But, sadly for the Ellesborough member, the Million Dollar hole was the seventh …
Fortunately Rod, pictured here on the seventh, saw the funny side even though he’d missed out on a trip to next year’s Masters. Mention of which, brings us on to Gary Cornforth, the latest addition to the passenger log for the trip to Augusta.

Gary, a 23 handicapper, aced the 105m 11th hole at Alto Golf, Pestana Golf Resort, to guarantee his place in the grand final next April. Gary is pictured celebrating with fellow members of his group after we caught up with them later at Onyria Palmares Beach & Golf Resort.
